Behind the Scenes

Updated: 5 days ago

Hi everyone!

I thought for my first blog I would introduce myself! My name is Anna and I'm a knitter and crocheter. I started knitting when I was still at secondary school although I didn't take it very seriously then, it was a bit of fun and pretty much all I could make were scarves!

Crocheting took me longer to master. I only learnt to crochet about three years ago now and I'm so grateful for Sarah from Number Four and her workshop. I went to that workshop with very little hope that I would be able to get the hang of it but she was fantastic and I came away having learnt the basic stitches and even had a small granny square and a crochet heart to show for it!

At the moment this is my side business, I am a Year 1 teacher through and through and I love my job. Although they test my patience, I love my little humans and couldn't imagine not being a teacher. It leaves me very little time to crochet or knit these days. If I'm not working when I get home in the evenings, I sometimes just don't have the motivation or energy to get a project out. I know well enough what happens when I crochet tired! During my holidays I try to make up for it as much as possible. Over the last summer holidays, despite being away in Australia to see my sister and meet my niece, I managed to bang out three projects and start a fourth. Oh and start a pattern test!

The top above is one of my favourites, mainly due to the yarn. The hand dyed yarn from Wildflower Yarn is just so soft and nice to work with. I can be quite impatient when it comes to making things and since crochet for me is quicker, it's now my go to. All of the projects completed on holiday were crochet and I've got more hooks than I know what to do with!

I've wanted to start a blog for a while now. Not that I have the time! But I have a collection that I've wanted to share with you all and now I've managed to get a couple of them under my belt, I thought it was the perfect time to share them. Look out for the first pattern!

Have a great week everyone! See you soon x
